Galo’s Gifts

Reading is a healthy pastime, as well as a necessary tool for success in school and other settings. At Amberwing, we have a bookshelf with books for children of all ages and we encourage families to allow their children to select a book to bring home. Thanks to an amazing fundraising effort by Allete, Inc, this bookshelf is stocked and ready for our young readers!

Led by Layne Weets, a company-wide book drive was held in honor of John Galo, a dear friend and coworker who passed away. Over 500 books were donated to Amberwing. Each book was labeled with a special sticker honoring John and his love of children. We are amazed by the generosity of these employees and are proud to be a part of remembering John in this way.
